Title
Amending Section 28.151 of the Madison General Ordinances to eliminate the zoning prohibition against street-facing automobile repair bays.
Body
DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This amendment addresses operational challenges arising from the new code. Specifically, this change will allow many existing properties to be in conformity with the new code. In addition, existing design standards better address the appearance of street-facing facades than a flat prohibition on automobile bays.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1. Subdivision (b) of the Subsection entitled "Automobile Body Shop, Automobile Sales and Rental, Automobile Service Station, Automobile Repair Station, Convenience Store" of Section 28.151 entitled "Applicability" of the Madison General Ordinances is hereby repealed.
2. Current Subdivisions (c) through (h) of the Subsection entitled "Automobile Body Shop, Automobile Sales and Rental, Automobile Service Station, Automobile Repair Station, Convenience Store" of Section 28.151 entitled "Applicability" of the Madison General Ordinances are renumbered to Subsections (b) through (g), respectively.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Repealed subsection of Section 28.151 currently reads as follows:
"(b) Automobile repair bays shall not face a local, collector or arterial street, but may face an alley or rear lot line."
