Public Health Madison and Dane County proposes the application for and acceptance of the National Environmental Health Association and Food and Drug Administration (NEHA-FDA) Funding Model Grant Program.
The NEHA-FDA provide funding to retail food regulatory agencies to reduce the occurrence of foodborne illness and for conformance advancement in the Retail Program Standards. The Retail Program Standards also intersects with the Public Health Accreditation Board by providing a performance-based system for continuous improvement. Public Health Madison & Dane County enrolled in the Retail Program Standards in 2015, and has since been pursuing full compliance with Standards. In 2023, Public Health completed a second program assessment, maintained conformance with Standard 7, and will be audited for conformance with Standard 3 in the near future.
In 2024, we seek support in one add-on training grant. The training grant will fund $7,500 for three staff to attend educational food safety conferences.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health Madison & Dane County, supports the application for the National Environmental Health Association and Food and Drug Administration Retail Flexible Funding Model Grant Program add-on grant for advancing conformance with the Voluntary National Retail Food Standards Regulatory Program; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, authorizes the Director of Public Health to enter into and sign an agreement with the National Environmental Health Association and Food and Drug Administration, accept and spend the funding, should it be awarded,...
