Fiscal Note
Cost associated with this double-fill total approximately $3,400 and will be accommodated by the management of Public Health salary savings. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

To authorize a double-fill in a Public Health Nurse position from September 1, 2007 through March 1, 2008
Body
WHEREAS, two Public Health Nurses will be reducing their time effective August 26, 2007, leaving 0.8 FTE vacant and there is an additional 0.1 FTE Public Health Nurse currently vacant;
WHEREAS a third Public Health Nurse will be reducing her time by 0.2 FTE when she returns from maternity leave on or about February 1, 2008;
WHEREAS it is desirable to recruit for a full-time Public Health Nurse,
WHEREAS, MGO 3.35 (6)(h) states: "The Human Resources Director, with the approval of the Mayor, and of the Common Council if the action requires the expenditure of more than $2,000 and/or is for longer than 30 days, is authorized to double-fill any position for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days unless such period is extended by action of the Common Council."
WHEREAS, the double-fill of the 0.1 FTE Public Health Nurse position requires the expenditure of more than $3,400; and
WHEREAS, funding for these expenditures is available in the 2007 Public Health Operating Budget;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the double filling of the 0.1 FTE Public Health Nurse is approved for the period of August 26, 2007 through March 1, 2008.
