Body
PREAMBLE

The City is proposing to construct a bicycle/pedestrian path on or adjacent to the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co. corridor between Randall Avenue and North Shore Drive, with design and construction to be funded with 80% federal funds and 20% City of Madison funds.  The City executed a design engineering contract with Strand Associates, Inc., authorized by Resolution No. 60720, ID 34362 and dated September 3, 2003.  The consultant has requested an amendment for additional services outside the scope of the original agreement, primarily survey and title work to define railroad right of way and additional coordination with the University and their consultant in the Murray Street pedestrian underpass area.  The City Engineer has determined that the amendment is reasonable, and recommends approval.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Three Party Design Engineering Services Contract between the City of Madison, Strand Associates, Inc., and the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for Southwest Bike Path Phase IV.
