Resolution authorizing a double-fill of a Field Service Representative in the Water Utility.
Body
WHEREAS, the Water Utility has received notification that the incumbent of Field Service Representative position #1855 will be on a leave of absence until at least May, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the Water Utility has a continuing need to have an employee read and change water meters to ensure accurate billing; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Personnel Rules and collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME Local 60 permit the posting of an Acting position when a long-term temporary vacancy is expected; and
WHEREAS, the Water Utility has determined that it is necessary to fill this Field Service Representative on an Acting basis; and
WHEREAS, filling this position on an Acting basis does not incur additional costs as the current employee is on leave without pay;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the double-filling of the Field Service Representative position, #1855, at the Water Utility, is approved until such time as the incumbent returns from leave in May, 2014, or it is determined that the incumbent will not return to the position, whichever comes first.
