AUTHORIZATION TO ACCEPT CARRYOVER FUNDS FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (DHS) FOR PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS (PHEP) - BIOTERRORISM PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM AND TO AMEND THE 2025 PUBLIC HEALTH OPERATING BUDGET

Public Health Madison & Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of $39,919.00 in carryover funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) - Bioterrorism Preparedness Program, and to amend the 2025 Operating Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Public Health received grant funding from DHS under Grant #435100-G24-DPHCC24-12 M7 (DPH Contract # 62104-7) for the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Board of Health previously approved Resolution File #80574-Resolution #2023-36 Umbrella Resolution for 2024 Grants and Agreements) to Accept
$252,000.00 in funds; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Board of Health previously approved Resolution File #85023 (Resolution #2024-28- Authorization to Accept $17,975.00 in Additional Funds, increasing the total grant amount to $269,975.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED a portion of the DHS award for fiscal year 2024 in the amount of
$39,919.00 was unspent at the end of the DHS contract period and DHS has authorized carryover of those unspent funds into 2025 contract period; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED Public Health proposes to accept the carryover funds of
$39,919.00 and to execute the 2025 DHS Contract #435100-G25-DPHCC25-12 M7 (DPH Contract #65392-7); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the acceptance of these funds will be used for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness - Bioterrorism Preparedness Program to enhance Wisconsin's ability to rapidly mobilize, surge, and respond to public health emergencies identified by the CDC, consistent with the original grant terms and DHS carryover approval.
