Fiscal Note
This resolution authorizes Monona Terrace to enter an agreement for the purchase of Fold & Roll Risers at a cost not to exceed $155,300. The Monona Terrace's adopted 2017 capital budget plans for $290,000 of Room Tax funding for machinery and equipment purchases at the facility via the Machiner and Other Equipment capital program (MUNIS 10037). Funding is sufficient for the agreement in the proposed resolution.

Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a sole source agreement with StageRight, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $155,300 for the purchase of “Fold & Roll Risers”, for use by Monona Terrace.
Body
WHEREAS, as the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center (“Monona Terrace”) celebrates its 20th anniversary, it continues to be necessary to maintain Monona Terrace’s plant and equipment in a manner that is consistent with its reputation as a premier convention and meeting venue; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to replace risers and accessories over the next two years; and,
WHEREAS, such risers must be physically and esthetically compatible with existing equipment, including stairs, skirting, hand railings, ADA ramps and chair guards, originally purchased in 1997 as well as existing equipment and accessories purchased in 2007 and 2013; and,
WHEREAS, the existing risers, accessories, and related equipment, including equipment that will not be immediately replaced, were designed, manufactured and exclusively distributed by StageRight, Inc., which was selected through a competitive bid process in 1997; and,
WHEREAS, because StageRight is the exclusive manufacturer and supplier of the “Fold & Roll Risers” that are physically and esthetically compatible with existing equipment, Stageright is the “sole source” for risers and related equipment that will replace equipment that has reached the end of its useful life; and,
