Title
Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of Knollwood Conservancy Park, located at 3334 Westview Lane.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company ("MG&E") has existing underground electric line facilities installed within a platted utility easement located in Outlot 4, Irvington Addition to Arbor Hills, being part of Knollwood Conservancy Park; and
 
WHEREAS, MG&E will be replacing the existing underground electric line facilities that are located in part of Knollwood Conservancy Park, as part of an ongoing maintenance program; and
 
WHEREAS, MG&E has requested a new underground electric line easement across a portion of said Outlot 4 for the purposes replacing the existing underground electric line facilities as currently located in the platted easement area; and
 
WHEREAS, the new MG&E underground electric line facilities will be installed by use of directional drilling, thereby avoiding potential tree damage, which would normally be a result of trenching through the platted easement area as located in said Outlot 4; and
 
WHEREAS, City of Madison Parks Division staff has reviewed and approve of the granting of such easement.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of Knollwood Conservancy Park, legally described as follows:
 
A strip of land, six (6) feet in width, as depicted on Exhibit A, being located in Outlot 4, Irvington Addition to Arbor Hills, a recorded plat located in the NE ΒΌ of Section 4, Town 6 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.
