Title

Creating Section 39.02(9)(a)2.k. of the Madison General Ordinances to include an exemption to certain contract requirements when purchasing insurance.

Body

DRAFTER’S ANALYSIS: Section 39.02(9) requires certain contract language when the City spends $50,000 or more annually with a contractor, with limited exceptions. The City spends more than $50,000 per year to provide insurance coverage for its property, elected officials and employees, with various insurance providers, on the private market or groups such as Wisconsin Municipal Mutual Insurance Company, of which the City is a member. This ordinance would exempt such payments from the clauses required by section 39.02(9).
