Fiscal Note
The proposed grant provides for $45,000 in funding.  The required City matching funds of $15,000 will be requested in the 2007 Traffic Engineering capital budget.

Body
WHEREAS, the City Traffic Engineering Division recognizes the importance of providing for safe, durable and highly visible epoxy pavement markings for crosswalks and roads (intersections, curves, and hills).
 
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation administers the Traffic Signing and Marking Enhancement Grant program and has approved a project for the City of Madison in the amount of $60,000, of which $45,000 of State grant monies will be matched by $15,000 of City funds, to install epoxy pavement marking at several locations.  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Traffic Engineering Division be authorized to accept grant monies in the amount of $45,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to install epoxy pavement markings at several locations.
