2026 Proposed WPCRC Fees

Body

The proposed fees will support the newly expanded Warner Park Community and Recreation Center and reflect new programming opportunities.

The Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) is currently undergoing a construction project.  The 8,400 square foot expansion scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, represents a transformative moment for the KNOW program partnership with the Madison Parks Foundation (KNOW program) and the broader northside community. This substantial addition focuses specifically on providing expanded space for community events and programming, creating new opportunities to:

Double Programming Capacity: Host simultaneous activities and serve more participants concurrently

Expand Family Engagement: Accommodate larger Family Fun Night events and community celebrations

Diversify Program Offerings: Add new activities and workshops that require dedicated space

Improve Service Delivery: Reduce scheduling conflicts and provide more individualized attention

Enhance Community Events: Host larger tournaments, meetings, and neighborhood gatherings

Regional Program Hub: Establish WPCRC as a destination facility for other area youth programs, creating opportunities for collaboration and cross-programming

The facility expansion will create an immediate opportunity to scale the KNOW programming to serve 300+ youth weekly, while also establishing WPCRC as a regional destination for area youth programs. By hosting other organizations and programs, we create valuable partnerships that introduce youth to our facility and services, building familiarity and comfort that naturally leads to participation in KNOW's comprehensive programming. This growth potential requires commensurate increases in programming support, supplies, services and fees to serve both our direct participants and visiting program participants.
