Title

Authorizing the Madison Department of Public Health to accept up to $474,800 from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services  (WDHFS) Division of Public Health to be utilized by the Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program during the period of January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006, and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign for the City.

Body

WHEREAS, the Madison Department of Public Health has conducted a Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) since 1981; and

WHEREAS, the WIC Program is highly effective in improving the health and nutritional status of women (pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum), infants, and children who are eligible for the Program based on income and health risk factors;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Madison Department of Public Health is authorized to accept up to $474,800 to be used for wages, benefits, and non-personnel expenses of the WIC Program and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign a contract on behalf of the City.
