Body
I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.

*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, “…provision shall not apply to a member of or candidate for appointment to a City of Madison board, committee or commission where, in the judgment of the Mayor and two-thirds (?) of the Common Council, the best interests of the City will be served by the appointment of a non-resident member who is particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience with Madison business concerns or other Madison-based employers and the Mayor specifies fully to the Common Council the reasons why he or she is recommending such appointment.”


BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS

CHANDRA MILLER FIENEN (6th A.D.) - reappoint to a five-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. First appointed 2-23-2021.
TERM EXPIRES: 4-30-2031

MELISSA GOMBAR (11th A.D.) - appointed to the position of Mayor or Designee. Melissa Gombar is a non-profit director with Elevate - an organization that focuses on ensuring people have access to clean and affordable heat, power and water. She was a member of the City’s Economic Development Committee.

*WAYNE HARRIS, Waunakee - appoint to a one-year term to the position of Resident Member.
TERM EXPIRES: 4-30-2027

Rationale: Mr. Harris is the owner/president of 6AM Marketing. He has owned several small businesses throughout his decades-long career, including several located within the City of Madison. In addition, he has served on several boards including the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the City’s Economic Development Committee.
