Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a contract for monitoring and troubleshooting services for the City's Information Technology Network.
Body
WHEREAS, the Information Services Department is charged with the responsibility for providing the necessary infrastructure for technology services for City government operations; and
WHEREAS, as part of providing that infrastructure in an efficient and cost effective manner we have a need to contract with a provider who can troubleshoot, identify, escalate, and correct problems which affect mission critical services on the City network on a 24/7 basis; and
WHEREAS, City Information Services, along with City Purchasing are pursuing such a provider in accordance with Section 3.61 of the Madison General Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, as of the writing of this resolution, the name of the provider and exact cost have not been finalized, however, the City has a need to move forward with this as quickly as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract with a provider who can troubleshoot, identify, escalate, and correct problems, which affect mission critical services on the City network on a 24/7 basis, to be determined once the procedures outlined in Section 3.61 of the Madison General Ordinances are completed, provided that the cost of those services does not exceed the budgeted amount of $40,000.
