Fiscal Note
This employment agreement, effective January 15, 2007, establishes a base salary of $113,364, which is included in the Overture Center's 2007 Operating Budget Request. The agreement also provides for reimbursement of relocation expenses and various other benefits (e.g., professional association dues, a parking space, and standard mileage reimbursement). The amount of the City's subsidy to Overture Center is established by the Cooperation and Development Agreement between the City and the Madison Cultural Arts District and will not change as a result of this employment agreement.

Submitting the name of Thomas Carto for confirmation of a five-year term as Overture Center Director.

Whereas, Mayor Cieslewicz has appointed Thomas Carto to the position of Overture Center Director and has recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and
Whereas, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Carto;
Now, therefore, be it resolved that Mr. Carto's appointment to the position of Overture Center Director is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Carto.
