Fiscal Note
This Resolution will increase expenditures in the Planning Division 2008 operating budget by $11,200, which will be fully offset with State grant revenues. There is no net impact on the levy.

Body
Whereas, the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (TPB) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Madison Metropolitan Area with responsibilities to perform metropolitan transportation planning and programming activities; and

Whereas, the City of Madison is the administrative agent of the MPO and is authorized in accord with Resolution TPB No. 18 to enter into a contract with a software provider (Trapeze Software Group Inc.) to upgrade the MPO’s Internet Ride-matching software; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison and the MPO have a joint service agreement (December 12, 2005) with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation - Southeast Region Office (WisDOT SE Region) for providing internet ride-matching services; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison and the MPO maintains the ride-matching software applications, databases, and equipment on a server in the Information Technology Department of the City of Madison; and

WHEREAS, the internet ride-matching service is live and operational with oversight from two locations, the MPO office here in Madison and WisDOT SE Region; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison on behalf of the MPO entered into a contract (June 26, 2006) with Trapeze Software Group Inc., to pay for and install the software to implement the internet ride-matching service; and

WHEREAS, the software installation included some detailed street address mapping that covers all of the counties in southern Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, WisDOT SE Region now wants to upgrade the street address mapping to include additional counties in ord...
