Title
Adopting the Woods Farm Park and Canter Park Development Plans.
Body
Park development plans for Woods Farm Park and Canter Park were developed in conjunction with each other due to their proximity to one another. Both parks are in the far northeastern boundary of Madison, surrounded by new development and separated by agricultural land.
Woods Farm Park is a 4.76 acre park which was dedicated as park land in 2017 as part of the Woods Farm Plat. Canter Park is a 4.78 acre park which was dedicated as park land in 2021 as part of the Jannah Village Plat. Both parks are currently undeveloped aside from a paved multi-use path on the western edge of Woods Farm Park. Madison Parks began public engagement in August 2025 and included two public information meetings (PIMs) and a community survey. These meetings were conducted online on September 4th and October 29th 2025.
On December 10, 2025, staff presented an informational presentation to the Board of Park Commissioners and requested feedback regarding the Park Development Plans. Parks staff are requesting that the Board of Park Commissioners adopt the proposed Woods Farm Park and Canter Park Development Plans.
