Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution modifies the existing agreement for the Water Utility’s Lakeview Reservoir Reconstruction capital project (MUNIS 10439) by the amount of $6,000 for additional construction administration work. The project is reconstruction the reservoir to a two zone system. Funding for this contract adjustment is sufficiently budgeted in the Water Utility’s adopted 2017 capital budget, provided by revenue bonds. Total revenue funding authorized for the project includes $1.1 million of reauthorized revenue bond appropriation and $858,000 of revenue bond appropriation in 2017.

Body
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Short Elliot and Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH, Inc.) on August 2, 2013 for Alternative Development, Final Design, Bidding, and Construction Administration Services; and

WHEREAS, SEH, Inc. has completed the alternative development, final design, and bidding services for the project, and are currently finishing up administering project construction; and

WHEREAS, Additional services have been identified and requested by Madison Water Utility for paint inspection and project close out. A fee has been negotiated with SEH, Inc. for this additional work. The Contractor has agreed to pay for this required additional work and has executed change order #4 to credit the cost back to the Water Utility; and

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has reviewed the proposed costs and recommends an increase of $6,000 to the contract;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 with SEH, Inc. to increase the total professional services fee for construction administr...
