Amending Secs. 9.13(6)(j)1.a. and (h)3.a.iii. of the Madison General Ordinances to allow Merchant Vending in the State Street Mall/Capitol Concourse Vending area on all days when the business is open and increase the annual license fee for merchant vendors.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: A Merchant Vendor license allows business owners in the State Street Mall and Capitol Concourse Vending area to display merchandise for sale on the sidewalk in front of their business Thursdays through Sundays, and certain holidays. This amendment would allow merchants with a Merchant Vending license to display their merchandise on the sidewalk whenever the business is open, up to seven days a week. In addition, this amendment would increase the Merchant Vendor annual license fee from $200 to $250.
