Title
Authorizing amendments to the “Regulations Governing Vending in High Density Vending Areas” to create two new Camp Randall food vending sites and amend the map accordingly.
Body
WHEREAS, Under sec. 9.13(7) of the Madison General Ordinances, the VOC is empowered to promulgate regulations not inconsistent with Sec. 9.13, governing the sale of goods and food in High Density Vending Areas and to create vending sites within those areas for the sale of food and merchandise; and
WHEREAS, under to Sec. 9.13(7) the Common Council must approve the regulations promulgated by the VOC; and
WHEREAS, the regulations are currently published in a document entitled “Regulations Governing Vending in High Density Vending Areas;” and
WHEREAS, the Madison Shrine Club and Kiwanis Club of Madison East have both held leases for use of city owned land parcels within the Camp Randall Vending Area, where they have operated food vending stands on football game days pursuant to said leases. On the advice of the City of Madison Real Estate division, these two lease sites are being converted to vending sites. This resolution will amend the Camp Randall High Density Vending Regulations to create two new vending sites to correspond to the former lease sites. Upon termination of the leases and adoption of this resolution, the Shriners and Kiwanis will apply for Camp Randall vending licenses and conduct their same game-day vending operations with a vending license rather than a lease; and
WHEREAS, the VOC has promulgated amendments to the Regulations as set forth herein using underlines and strike-outs to show changes as appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council approve the following amendments to the “Regulations Governing Vending in High Density Vending Areas” recommended by the Vending Oversight Committee:
