There is no fiscal impact as this resolution does not request any additional funding or expenditure authority but amends the existing contract to provide for services already reflected in Traffic Engineering's 2007 and prior years capital budgets.

Amendment #1 to existing contract with Brickline, Inc. to provide additional epoxy pavement markings.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison entered into a contract with Brickline Inc. on April 19, 2005 to perform $164,511.54 in semi-permanent pavement marking services for the years 2005-2007; and

WHEREAS, additional pavement marking services are required because additional projects have been identified that were not known when this contract was bid in September of 2004; and

WHEREAS, epoxy markings are often used to complete projects in the fall when other marking materials may not be practical due to weather conditions; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic Engineering has already budgeted for $70,000 in its 2005, 2006 and 2007 capital budgets ($210,000) for general purpose epoxy pavement markings; and

WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has awarded a Traffic Signing and Marking Enhancement (TSME) Grant to provide epoxy pavement markings which are restricted to roadways within and adjacent to census blocks in the City of Madison with concentrations of persons over age 55; and

WHEREAS, the State requires the City to provide $15,000 as a 25 percent match to the $45,000 State grant making the total funds available for the TSME epoxy project $60,000; and

WHEREAS, the acceptance of this grant has been authorized by the Mayor and Common Council and the total grant-related funding has been budgeted in the Traffic Engineering Division's 2007 capital budget request;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment #1 to the existing contract with Brickline, Inc. to provide additional $45,488.46 in general epoxy marking and another ...
