Preamble

Section 66.0301, Wisconsin Statutes, authorizes cities, villages, towns, counties and other public agencies to enter into Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreements for the furnishing of municipal services and the joint exercise of mutual powers and duties required or authorized by law. Madison and Monona recognize that intergovernmental cooperation provides high quality and efficient provision of municipal services.

West Broadway between Frazier Road/South Towne Drive and Bridge Road is on or near the boundaries between Madison and Monona, with portions in each municipality. In 2004, Madison and Monona jointly sponsored the improvement of West Broadway along with Dane County. As part of the improvement of West Broadway, a landscaped median was installed in the center of the traveled way. In order to more efficiently serve the public each municipality will divide the maintenance for the median in the following fashion:

· Madison will provide for the maintenance of the landscaped beds including the
trimming, weeding, mulching, pruning, fertilizing, pest and disease and the necessary replacement of the plants as provided for in the landscaping plans for the construction of West Broadway.

· Monona will provide for the maintenance of the turf within the median, including the mowing, edging, fertilizing, and pest and disease and trash removal.

· Each municipality shall continue to exercise jurisdiction over all other matters concerning such streets within the parties' respective borders.
