Title

Authorizing the City Engineer to submit a warranty alteration form and necessary paperwork including a signed overburden waiver to the Firestone Building Products Company LLC for the Roof Paver System and the PV Panel Racking System installation at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave., in order to authorize the installation under the terms of the roof’s warranty.  (6th AD)

Body

WHEREAS, a new EPDM roof will be installed under Public Works Contract 8162 on the new Olbrich Botanical Center-Learning Center.

 

WHEREAS, a 30-year Firestone Platinum Warranty for the new roof will be issued by Firestone Building Products LLC with a start date on or about November 1, 2019.

 

WHEREAS, under Public Works Contract 8162 the City will be installing a raised roof paver system on the first floor roof, and PV Solar Panels on the second floor roof, and these systems will not penetrate the new roof.

 

WHEREAS, in order to authorize the installations under the terms of the warranty Firestone Building Products LLC requires the City to submit a warranty alteration form and necessary paperwork including an overburden waiver.

 

WHEREAS, Firestone Building Products LLC requires the City to sign and file a new overburden waiver whenever any above-membrane material, temporary or permanent, is added which requires removal prior to investigation or repair of a suspected roof leak.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Engineer is authorized to sign and submit a warranty alteration form and all necessary paperwork including a new overburden waiver for the 2019 system installations in order to authorize the installation under the terms of the warranty.
