Acknowledging and commemorating Sue DeBolt's 36 years of dedicated professional service in the City's Human Resources Department.
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, Sue DeBolt began her service to the City of Madison
in 1975 and will leave City employment in 2011 after 36 years to a long and pleasurable
retirement;  and
 
WHEREAS, Sue began her service with the Madison Water Utility in 1975
and transferred to the Human Resource Department in 1990 promoting to
several  positions  within that department reaching the level of Personnel
Analyst; and
 
WHEREAS, Sue has always recognized that the City's employees are its most
important resources; and
 
WHEREAS, in her positions in HR Sue processed literally thousands of applications
for both external new hires and internal promotions adhering to both Civil Service and
several Union Contracts  to process them efficiently and correctly;  and
 
WHEREAS, most recently Sue worked tirelessly with the Madison Fire Department
to assist them in the establishment of an eligibility list for Madison Firefighter which began with
1600 applications in the process; and
 
WHEREAS, throughout her career, Sue has always been available to assist others as needed,
leading by her example of dedication to the ethical principles of civil service and
the high level of quality expectation that she set for herself and for the citizens of
Madison;
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council
of the City of Madison do hereby commend Ms. Sue DeBolt for her excellent and
committed service at the Madison Water Utility and the Human Resources Department
for the City of Madison, Wisconsin.
