Amending Section 7.15(7) to increase the penalty for violations and amending Sec. 1.08(3) of the Madison General Ordinances to establish a bail deposit for a violation, relating to penalties for violating the tattooing and body-piercing regulations.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance would increase the penalties for violations relating to tattooing and body-piercing regulations and establishes a bail deposit for a violation of this section.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1. Subdivision (a) of Subsection (7) entitled "Penalty" of Section 7.15 entitled "Regulation of Tattooing and Body-Piercing" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"(7) Penalty.
(a) Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance may be fined not less than twenty-five dollars ($25), nor more than five hundredone thousand dollars ($5001000). Each day of violation and every violation of any provision of this ordinance may constitute a separate offense."
2. Subdivision (a) of Subsection (3) entitled "Schedule of Deposits" of Section 1.08 entitled "Issuance of Citations for Violations of Certain Ordinances and Providing a Schedule of Cash Deposits" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended by creating the following:
"Violation of Tattoo and Body-Piercing Regulation 7.15 $500"
EDITOR'S NOTE: New bail deposits must be approved by the Municipal Judge prior to adoption. This deposit has been so approved, provided the penalty range is increased.
