Board of Park Commissioners Affirming the Acquisition of Parkland Located at 514 Pinney Street for the future Royster Park.

Legislative File ID# 92015 was approved unanimously by Finance Committee on March 2, 2026, and is scheduled to be adopted by Common Council on March 10, 2026.  Under the proposed resolution, the City of Madison Economic Development is working to execute a Purchase and Sale Agreement with RDC Development, LLC to purchase seventeen properties for landbanking purposes.  Of these properties, a property at 514 Pinney Street, identified as a future Royster Park.  The proposed parkland acquisition will address current and projected parkland deficiencies the residential development of this neighborhood.  The Parks Division is agreeable to the park location and have agreed to fund the acquisition of parkland in the amount of $680,000 pending final authorization by Common Council.

 

The Board of Park Commissioners hereby affirms the acquisition of the approximately ¾ acre parcel located at 514 Pinney Street for the future Royster Park pending adoption of Legislative File ID #92015 by Common Council and subsequent completion of the Purchase and Sale transaction.
