Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute maintenance contract(s) as needed with Progress Software Corporation.
Body
WHEREAS, in 1994 the City chose Progress Software for use as the primary in-house software development tool and database through an RFP process; and
WHEREAS, the City operates more than 50 separate databases and applications based on the Progress Software OpenEdge platform; and
WHEREAS, the City has continued to contract for annual software maintenance and support since 1995; and
WHEREAS, Progress Software Corporation is the sole source provider of these services; and
WHEREAS, because this contractor was chosen as a sole-source provider of these services, and the total contract price is over $25,000, approval of the Common Council is required by MGO 4.26(4)(b) and signature by the mayor and city clerk are required by MGO 4.26(5).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Progress Software Corporation be approved as the sole source provider for annual software maintenance and support services for databases and development tools unique to the Progress environment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute maintenance contract(s) as needed with Progress Software Corporation, for the above-described services.
