The proposed resolution authorizes a competitive service contract with AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for planning and design engineering services for the Perry St overpass. The contract is not to exceed $1,000,000 and will be funded by an awarded US Department of Transportation (DOT) grant from the Reconnecting Communities Program. There is no local match associated with this program. The contract will be on a task order basis, and services will only be performed upon confirmation of the availability of funds from the US DOT. The federal funding is appropriated in Transportation’s Reconnecting Communities capital project originally approved in the 2023 capital budget and amended through the 2024 year-end appropriation resolution.

Body
WHEREAS, Madison Common Council approved the application to, and agreement with, US DOT in 2022 (Legistar 72606); and

WHEREAS, US DOT has executed an agreement with the City of Madison for $1 million in funding for planning and design engineering of a Perry St overpass; and,

WHEREAS, City Purchasing and Transportation conducted a competitive selection process with multiple submittals; and,

WHEREAS, AECOM Technical Services, Inc. was selected as the engineering consultant that best addressed Madison’s service needs for this project; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to negotiate a scope and execute a contract, for up to two years of professional design and engineering services from AECOM Technical Services, Inc. The sum of the task orders for the scope and corresponding service fees will not exceed $1,000,000; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that AECOM Technical Services, Inc. will only perform services if US DOT funding for the Reconn...
