Authorizing the City of Madison to accept ownership from Junction Ridge Neighborhood Association of two neighborhood entrance signs to be located in the public right-of-way of Junction Road.
Body
WHEREAS, the Junction Ridge Neighborhood Association (“the Association”) has requested permission to install two neighborhood entrance signs (the “Signs”) within the public right-of-way of Junction Road. One sign will be located on a City of Madison Engineering Storm Water Utility property located at 650 Junction Road. The other sign will be located in the 200 block of Junction Road, on the west side of the road.
WHERAS, the approximate location of the Signs are shown on a map attached as Exhibit A. Both Signs will have the same design, which is illustrated on attached Exhibit B; and
WHEREAS, the Association will transfer ownership of the Signs to the City after they have been installed, in exchange for the ongoing maintenance and repair of the Signs by the Association; and
WHEREAS, City staff from the Offices of the City Attorney, Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Risk Management, Planning, and Building Inspection have reviewed this Privilege in Streets request application and approved it with conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Madison authorizes the acceptance of ownership from the Junction Ridge Neighborhood Association, of two neighborhood entrance signs to be located in the public right-of-way of Junction Road, as shown on the attached Exhibit A and illustrated on Exhibit B; subject to the following conditions:
1. The Association shall be responsible for all costs of installation, maintenance and repair of the Signs.
2. The Association shall locate the Signs within specific locations, as approved by the City Engineer and the City Traffic Engineer. Guidance for placement of the Signs is shown on attached as Exhibit C.
