Title
Authorizing the Madison Department of Public Health to accept reimbursement of up to $68,150 from the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development for services to refugees, and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign for the City.
Body
WHEREAS, refugees from other countries are at higher risk for tuberculosis and hepatitis, and often have lower general health status due to malnutrition, lack of medical and health services, and other deprivations, and
WHEREAS, such refugees are therefore a high priority for public health services from the Department of Public Health, and have been served through this program in past years, and;
WHEREAS, funds are available from the State of Wisconsin for the provision of public health services, including health screening, case management and outreach, for the period of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Madison Department of Public Health is authorized to accept reimbursement for services provided from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Economic Support Division, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the City.
