DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: Amending the ordinance to raise service of process mileage rate from 37 cents to the current Internal Revenue Service rate.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Subsection (3) entitled "Travel" of Section 9.48 entitled "Fees for Service of Process" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"(3) Travel. For travel in serving any summons, writ or other process, thirty-seven cents ($.37) at the current Internal Revenue Service rate for deductible costs for operation of an automobile for each mile actually and necessarily traveled."
