Title
Authorizing the City’s execution of a Seventh Amendment to Lease, pertaining to the City’s master community gardens lease with Rooted WI, Inc., for the purpose of expanding the community garden area at Waunona Park. (District 14)
Body
WHEREAS, in 2015 the City of Madison (“City”) executed a Lease with Rooted WI, Inc. (“Lessee”), formerly known as Community GroundWorks, Inc., allowing for the Lessee to operate community gardens on certain parcels of City-owned land across the City; and
WHEREAS, the Lessee has requested to expand the cultivated area at Waunona Park Community Garden from the current approximately 12,000 square feet to approximately 17,640 square feet, as depicted in Exhibit B of the attached Seventh Amendment to Lease (“Seventh Amendment”); and
WHEREAS, City Parks staff have reviewed and support the proposed expansion of the Waunona Park Community Garden, as further detailed in the Seventh Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City’s Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and Clerk to execute and record the Seventh Amendment to Lease and take any further action required to accomplish the purpose of this resolution in a form approved by the City Attorney.
