The proposed resolution authorizes a first amendment to the existing Sasaki Associates, Inc. Purchase of Services contract for the Madison LakeWay - SkyLine Improvements project. The amendment includes additional professional design services to develop traffic management plans for the construction of the LakeWay project. The contract between the City of Madison and Sasaki Associates, Inc. was approved via RES-25-00664 (Legistar #90935) on December 9, 2025, in the amount of $900,000. This proposed amendment will add $15,540 to execute additional professional services. The new contract as amended would total $915,540. Funding for the contract and proposed amendment is available in the Madison LakeWay project #17362. No additional appropriation is required.

WHEREAS, The City entered into an agreement with Sasaki Associates for design services for the Madison LakeWay (RES-24-00664); and,
WHERAS, As the project has advanced, the Parks Division has identified a need for additional design services to address traffic management and multimodal access along the John Nolen Drive causeway during construction activities; and,
WHEREAS, The additional services include the development of professional traffic management plans for vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian movements through and along the construction area.
WHEREAS, A key objective of the additional design work is to develop a traffic control approach that minimizes impacts to bicycle and pedestrian travel and reduces the length and duration of required detours; and,
