This resolution approves the plans for Sprague Street which is adequetely budgeted within Engineering-Major Streets Reconstruction Streets program minor project #10899.
In the adopted 2017 capital budget Engineering-Major Streets and the associated Utilities have budgeted $7.87 million for the replacement of deteriorated street to provide improved neighborhood roadways via the Reconstruction Streets program (MUNIS 10226). The minor project for road improvements to the Gregory Street, Knickerbocker Street, Sprague Street and Sheldon Street Reconstruction Assessment District is established with sufficient budget authority for the proposed costs in this resolution (MUNIS 10899). Funding is provided by GO Borrowing, Revenue Bonds, Utility reserves, and Special Assessments.
The proposed resolution approves plan documents at a total estimated cost of $3,775,600 split by agency as follows:
Engineering Major Streets - $1,280,000
Sewer Utility - $1,350,000
Stormwater Utility - $160,000
Water Utility - $985,600

PREAMBLE
Sprague Street between Gregory Street and Sheldon Street will be reconstructed in 2017. Because several of the neighbors have expressed support for widening the currently 24-ft wide street, City Engineering is proposing to widen the street to 26-ft. A portion of the street near the intersection with Sheldon Street will remain at 24-ft wide in order to protect 4 existing trees.
Construction and funding will be included with project 10899, Gregory Street, Knickerbocker Street, Sprague Street and Sheldon Street Reconstruction Assessment District - 2017, File ID 45348.
