The total estimated cost of the project is $9,186,800.00 $9,216,800, of which the City of Madison is responsible for $878,800 $908,800, including $65,000 of real estate that is expected to be dedicated by Mortenson Investment Group. Funds are available in the 2006 Executive Capital budget project 23 of the Engineering - Major Streets section account CS53-58250-810371-00-53W0303.

PREAMBLE

The South Beltline Highway (USH 12) is a 6-lane expressway. The Todd Drive/Seminole Highway Interchange has seen significant commercial growth and has a higher than average crash rate. The deck of the Beltline Highway Bridge over Todd Drive is deteriorated and in need of replacement, and the pavement on the South Beltline is cracked and rutted.

The Mortenson Investment Group has proposed to renovate and/or create new employment centers for prospective enterprises (The Landmark Gate Building, the Sergenians Building, Glenmark Oaks Building, the M-3 Building, the Intercon Building, and the Landmark Building) along Todd Drive and the West Beltline Frontage Road. In order to make the project an attractive and efficient job center; pedestrian, bike, and transit related improvements are necessary. The installation of these transportation improvements require the reconstruction of the road, the addition of retaining walls in lieu of purchase of additional right-of-way, and the installation of traffic signals and metered and unmetered ramps for access to the Beltline Highway.
