Urging Charter Communications to add Free Speech TV to its programming lineup.
Body
WHEREAS, Free Speech TV is a national non-profit 501 (c) 3 television channel that is currently available part-time on over 100 community television stations in 28 states (including WYOU), and 24/7 on the DISH Network, channel 9415; and
 
WHEREAS, FSTV programming provides information and perspectives that are underrepresented, misrepresented and ignored by the mainstream media; and
 
WHEREAS, the programming offered on Free Speech TV is a natural fit for this progressive community, and Charter can demonstrate its commitment to Madison by adding this important voice to its programming; and
 
WHEREAS, members of the community have organized in support of the addition of FSTV to Charter's channel lineup in Madison, demonstrating strong grassroots support;
 
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Madison urge Charter Communications to add Free Speech TV to its channel lineup in Madison.
