Title

Authorizing the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with Schmelzer Paint Company to furnish labor, material, and equipment to paint walls and ceilings in the second floor City Channel offices located at the Madison Municipal Building.  (6th AD)

Body

WHEREAS the existing building, used for offices for City Channel, is deteriorated and requires renovation of cosmetic finishes, and,

WHEREAS the 2006 Capital Budget includes funding for painting and a contractor must be hired to complete this portion of the project, and,

WHEREAS the total contract compensation for construction by Schmelzer Paint Company is $19,080, and,

WHEREAS Schmelzer Paint Company is the low bid that meets the needs of the project; and Section 3.61(5), MGO, authorizes the Purchasing Agent to sign contracts for purchase of services when the total cost of services is $25,000 or less, and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with Schmelzer Paint Company to provide construction to paint existing offices at City Channel located at 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
