Commending Alderperson Steve Holtzman for his dedicated service to his constituents and the City of Madison from April 4, 1995 to April 20, 2005.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Steve Holtzman was elected on April 4, 1995 to represent the 19th District; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Steve Holtzman has served on the Plan Commission, Urban Design Commission, Board of Public Works, Community Services Commission, Community Development Authority, Community Action Coalition Board of Directors, Solid Waste Advisory Commission, Common Council Organization Committee, CCOC Technology Subcommittee, Revenue Alternatives Task Force, Citizens Commission for People with Disabilities, Transportation Commission, Long Rang Transportation Planning Commission and the Pedestrian, Bicycle Motor Vehicle Commission; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Steve Holtzman was the leader on building the Blackhawk Bike Path in cooperation with the village of Shorewood Hills; enhancing pedestrian access and safety through several projects within District 19; implementing PCs to support aldermanic work; creating the payment for municipal services and payment in lieu of room taxes programs that have generated over $1,000,000 of revenue to offset the economic impact of otherwise tax exempt developments; and ensuring a healthy workplace for workers in bars and restaurants exposed to the toxic effects of tobacco smoke; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Steve Holtzman also helped beautify Madison by his vigilant assistance to staff in the enforcement of various street graphic ordinances; and,

WHEREAS. Alderperson Steve Holtzman showed tremendous courage in sticking to his values when controversial sidewalk issues erupted in his district; and

WHEREAS, Alderperson Steve Holtzman through hard work and dedication to his aldermanic duties has faithfully served his constituents and the City of Madison,
