Fiscal Note

This resolution modifies the Fire Department's Permanent Salary Detail but has no impact on the total 2006 Fire Department Budget.

Title

Amending the Permanent Salary Detail in the Fire Department's 2006 Operating Budget to add three positions of Firefighter Paramedic 2 and delete 3 positions of Firefighter Paramedic.

Body

The City needs to increase the positions of Firefighter Paramedic 2 to be in accordance with the agreement between the City and Firefighters Local 311. A total of 21 positions of Firefighter Paramedic 2  are needed with seven ambulances in service.  The adopted budget has 18 Firefighter Paramedic 2 positions.

Three positions of Firefighter Paramedic will be deleted under this agreement.  No additional funding is required for these positions.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Permanent Salary Detail in the 2006 Fire Operating Budget be amended to add 3 positions of Firefighter Paramedic 2 (CG-RG  13-03A ) and to delete 3 positions of Firefighter Paramedic (CG-RG 13-03);  and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT $199,611 in permanent salaries will be reallocated to the classification of Firefighter Paramedic 2 (CG-RG 13-03A) and the classification of Firefighter Paramedic (CG-RG 13-03) will reflect a reduction of $199,611 in the Permanent Salary Detail in the 2006 Fire Department Operating Budget,
