Authorizing the City Engineer to submit a post warranty alteration form and necessary paperwork including a signed overburden waiver to Firestone Building Products Company LLC for the photovoltaic system installation at the Metro Transit Bus Garage at 1101 E. Washington Avenue in order to authorize the installation under the terms of the roof’s warranty. (6th  AD)

Body

WHEREAS, a new EPDM roof was installed in 2018 at the Madison Transit Bus Garage at 1101 E. Washington Avenue using Firestone Building Products LLC materials.

 

WHEREAS, a 20 year warranty for the new roof materials was issued by Firestone Building Products LLC with a start date of 11/1/2018.

 

WHEREAS, the City has plans for a future photovoltaic system installation at the Metro Transit Bus Garage where the new system will be installed above and not penetrate the new roof.

 

WHEREAS, in order to authorize the installation under the terms of the warranty Firestone Building Products LLC requires the City to submit a post warranty alteration form and necessary paperwork including an overburden waiver.

 

WHEREAS, Firestone Building Products Company LLC requires the City to sign and file a new overburden waiver whenever any above-membrane material, temporary or permanent, is added which requires removal prior to investigation or repair of a suspected roof leak.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Engineer is authorized to sign and submit a post warranty alteration form and all necessary paperwork including a new overburden waiver for the 2019 Photovoltaic system installation in order to authorize the installation under the terms of the warranty.
