The proposed resolution authorizes reallocating $125,000 of state grant funding from Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Uper Michigan (LSS) to Briarpatch, Porchlight, and Sankofa Educational Leadership United. LLS projects they will not be able to spend the entire balance of their Rapid Rehousing program, resulting in $125,000 available for reallocation. No additional City appropriation is required for the proposed contract amendments and funding reallocation.

BACKGROUND

The State had initially signaled its intent to allocate additional funds to CoCs but the timing of their release has been pushed back. Accordingly, reference to the anticipated receipt and use of those funds has been removed in the substitute resolution.

The City of Madison works closely with Dane County Continuum of Care (Dane CoC) member agencies that serve people experiencing homelessness and those at risk of becoming homeless, and provides leadership and administrative support to the group.
