Approval and authorization to appropriate additional Beyond the Page funds in Madison Public Library's 2026 Adopted Operating Budget.

WHEREAS, Madison Public Library (MPL) receives Beyond the Page grant funds from Dane County Library Service (DCLS) annually, and,
WHEREAS, given the uncertainties of grant funding sources during the 2025 time that budget requests are prepared, MPL estimated Beyond the Page funds very conservatively, at $250 per library branch for a total of $2,250, and,
WHEREAS, MPL was informed that the 2026 amount of funds per branch will be $1,500, and will include the Imagination Center at Reindahl Park, for a total of $15,000. This is an increase of $12,750 over the 2026 Adopted Operating Budget, requiring approval by the Madison Public Library Board to accept and appropriate the additional funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that MPL is authorized to accept funds of $15,000 from DCLS.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that MPL is authorized to appropriate additional funds of $12,750 to the 2026 Operating Budget.
