PREAMBLE:
This is a resurfacing project that involves milling and grinding the old pavement, base patching, and installing a new asphalt pavement. The pavement width varies, and averages approximately 14'. The new pavement will be 14' wide over the majority of the length, approximately 2,100', and less where that width cannot be attained. The work involves working very close to several Native American effigy mounds. The tree at the eastern end bisects the existing road. The southern side of the pavement around the tree will be removed and not replaced as it was installed by vandalism.
The connection to Woodrow Street on the west end was cut off to motor vehicle traffic in 2006 in order to minimize traffic.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED:
1 That plans and specifications for Edgewood Drive Resurfacing be and are hereby approved.
2 That the board of public works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and received bids for said project.
3 That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to accept dedication of lands and/or easements from the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
