Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of additional funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to support the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2022- 35 authorizing the acceptance of $962,115 from Wisconsin Department of Health Services for WIC services. PHMDC received an additional $5,632 from WI DHS, increasing the total funding amount to $967,747.
Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reimburses PHMDC for Interpreter signing services. Last year WIC utilized $43,333 for interpreter signing services, far exceeding the budgeted amount of $28,000. Given the increasing number of clients each year, the requested budget amount for Interpreter signing services in 2023 is $43,333.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept and expend the funds in the total amount of $967,747; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes adjusting the PHMDC 2023 Budget to include the additional funds and anticipated $43,333 in interpreter reimbursement for a total adjustment of $48,965.
