Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution supports and approves an application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for a federal Transportation Alternatives Program grant. The grant award could be up to $150,000 with a local match up to $30,000. The local match would be funded by Traffic Engineering's 2022 capital budget appropriation from the Traffic Safety Infrastructure capital program. If awarded, a separate resolution will be submitted to amend Traffic Engineering's 2022 capital budget to appropriate the grant funds.

The City is committed to ensuring the safety of children especially as they travel to school and encouraging more families to choose walking and biking as a healthy transportation option.
