The proposed resolution approves plans and specifications and authorizes the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for 1008 W Johnson Street. Estimated City Costs are not to exceed $25,000. Funding for the City portion of costs is available in Munis #15034. No additional appropriation is required.

WHEREAS, the developer, One Thousand Eight West Johnson, LLC, has received the City of Madison's conditional approval for a one-lot Certified Survey Map (CSM); a demolition permit to demolish a lodging house at 306 N Brooks Street; a request to rezone 306 N Brooks Street from the TR-U2 (Traditional Residential-Urban 2) District to the RMX (Regional Mixed-Use) District; a conditional use in the [Proposed] Regional Mixed-Use (RMX) District for a building exceeding five stories and 78 feet in height; and a conditional use for a vehicle parking reduction of more than 20 spaces and 25 percent or more of the required parking, to allow construction of a 15-story, 189-unit apartment building at 1008 W Johnson Street (future address), and,

WHEREAS, Section 16.23(9) of the Madison General Ordinances and the conditions of approval require the developer to install the public improvements necessary to serve the rezoning.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a Contract For the Construction of Public Improvements that will be accepted by the City of Madison For 1008 W Johnson Street with One Thousand Eight West Johnson, LLC, or designee with the approval of the City Engineer.

2. That the plans and specifications for the public improvements necessary to serve the development are hereby approved.
