Fiscal Note
This resolution amends the Parks Division 2007 Capital Budget by transferring $90,000 of General Obligation Debt borrowing authority from Project 12 "Specific Parks Improvement" to Project 16 "Goodman Park Maintenance Facility". No appropriation is required, nor is any impact upon cost controls anticipated.

PREAMBLE
$5,5349,352.00 was authorized for renovation and expansion of the Goodman Park Maintenance Facility in 2006. During construction, an unexpected level of gas vapor contamination was encountered from gas tanks that had been removed and remediated several years earlier. Addition of a gas vapor extraction system and other factors related to the contamination cost over $110,000. Landfill remediation funds covered some of these costs. Due primarily to the gas extraction system, the 4% contingency for the project has been expended and will not cover all the anticipated changes orders and other expenses to complete the project. With this amendment adding $90,000 to the contingency, the total change orders, including the gas extraction system, are anticipated to be approximately 7% of the original contract cost. The proposed transfer of funds will reduce the playground repairs account to $86,000. Additional playground expansion and upgrades will also continue using funds available in Development Fee Projects 810437.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Parks Division 2007 Capital Budget be amended to transfer $90,000 from Specific Park Improvements 810405 to Goodman Park Maintenance Building 810557.
