Title
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-07 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the Perinatal Hepatitis B Grant
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of an additional $7,200 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for the Perinatal Hep B Grant.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2023-36 authorizing the acceptance of $12,000 from DHS for the Perinatal Hep B grant. PHMDC received an additional $7,200 from DHS, increasing the total amount to $19,000.
The Communicable Disease Team at PHMDC will be using these additional funds from DHS to support perinatal hepatitis B follow-up work. These grant funds will support the staff doing perinatal hepatitis B follow-up work, which involves working directly with pregnant people diagnosed with hepatitis B to educate them and help them take steps to prevent transmission of hepatitis B to their infant during and after birth.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and increase the 2024 Public Health Budget by $7,200.
