Amending the records, including maps and databases, of the street address numbers and street names by the City Engineer, referred to in Sections 10.34, Madison General Ordinances by changing the name of a 250’ long isolated portion of Ruskin St on the north side of Commercial Ave to Huxley St (District 12)

WHEREAS, Section 10.34, City of Madison General Ordinances, requires the City Engineer to maintain records, including maps and databases, of the street address numbers and street names; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Common Council adopted Resolution RES-24-00122, File ID 81590 on March 5, 2024 approving the “Madison Engineering Division - Street Naming Policy for New Streets” and the revised “Policy for Street Name Changes”; and
WHEREAS, an existing 250’ long stub portion of Ruskin St (hereinafter the “Ruskin Stub”), lying immediately north of Commercial Ave, was conveyed to the City of Madison and dedicated for public street purposes as per Warranty Deed recorded on September 15th, 1966 in Volume 824 of Deeds, pages 313 - 318 as Document No. 1169963, Dane County Register of Deeds and named Ruskin Street. The Ruskin Stub is as shown and labeled on attached Exhibit A and Vicinity Map, both attached hereto and made part of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, on June 21, 2022, the City of Madison Common Council adopted Resolution Enactment Number RES-22-00478, File ID 69519, amending the City of Madison Official Map establishing mapped reservations for future Streets and Highways in the City of Madison being. The reservations being consistent with recommendations in the adopted Oscar Mayer Special Area Plan.
