Election of Board of Health Officers (BOHMDC Resolution 2026 ACT-002)
Body
WHEREAS, Article V of the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County (BOHMDC) Bylaws establishes that the officers of the Board shall consist of a Chair, Vice-Chair, and Second Vice-Chair; and
WHEREAS, the Bylaws require that the Board elect its officers annually by majority vote of the appointed members, with each officer serving a one-year term ending April 30 or until successors are elected; and
WHEREAS, the Bylaws further specify that elected officials of the City of Madison and Dane County may not serve as Board officers, and that no member may hold more than one elected office at a time; and
WHEREAS, the Board must conduct its annual election of officers and select individuals to serve in these roles for the upcoming term;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County hereby opens nominations for the offices of Chair, Vice-Chair, and Second Vice-Chair; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that following nominations, the Board shall vote by majority of appointed members to elect officers for a one-year term ending April 30, or until successors are elected; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Board shall record the results of the officer elections as follows:

and that the newly elected officers shall assume their duties immediately upon election and carry out the responsibilities assigned to their respective offices under Article V of the Bylaws.
